OK! So I saw Django Unchained today and it was awesome. I really liked that the team involved in this film could successfully have humor in a film with such a serious subject matter. In my research of the film I came across the film titled Django and it was a bloody western so I can't help to think there was some reference or ideas used from that.(Idk just an idea) I also really liked that although there were references to white men taking black women to their rooms it didn't show things like that in the film. This film was really bloody like the blood just looked so real and gave the film a real feel at some points.
I also liked how strong and smart Django was. I really get frustrated with the fact that we were thought of as animals or less then. Different yes we are but less then we are not. Watching this made me think of guys I've learned about like NAT Turner. Long story short great film.
I can't help but think that I want to be working on sets like this. I want to intern for a shooting of a movie and see all the behind the scenes stuff. Like blowing stuff up, I saw some movie info on IMDb and it talked about the use of dynamite in the movie and how it wasn't invented until 9 years after the supposed time period of the movie. (lol) Things like that intrigue me.
I don't want to give much away but that reference to the Three Musketeers was one of my favorite parts. :)
