OK! So I saw Django Unchained today and it was awesome. I really liked that the team involved in this film could successfully have humor in a film with such a serious subject matter. In my research of the film I came across the film titled Django and it was a bloody western so I can't help to think there was some reference or ideas used from that.(Idk just an idea) I also really liked that although there were references to white men taking black women to their rooms it didn't show things like that in the film. This film was really bloody like the blood just looked so real and gave the film a real feel at some points.
I also liked how strong and smart Django was. I really get frustrated with the fact that we were thought of as animals or less then. Different yes we are but less then we are not. Watching this made me think of guys I've learned about like NAT Turner. Long story short great film.
I can't help but think that I want to be working on sets like this. I want to intern for a shooting of a movie and see all the behind the scenes stuff. Like blowing stuff up, I saw some movie info on IMDb and it talked about the use of dynamite in the movie and how it wasn't invented until 9 years after the supposed time period of the movie. (lol) Things like that intrigue me.
I don't want to give much away but that reference to the Three Musketeers was one of my favorite parts. :)

My Haul
Yesterday I went to Limerick Outlets with my dad before the snow got to bad. Man oh man being responsible sucks lol. I'll be honest the only reason I didn't buy more is because I know I have to buy my books for the up coming semester. I saw this really cool NIKE jacket I wanted, I'm so determined to find that thing again.
(Any ways)More about my haul. You see all the pretty things I got I'm so excited. The shirt which was originally 44.99 was on clearance for 4.97 with an extra 40% off. The shirt came to 2.98 in which I really could have gotten for free with the Gap gift card I have but the store couldn't get the thing to work (UGH) I think it only works in regular Gap stores.
Then I headed into Charlotte Russe. I fell in love all over again it was motivation to get back on track with eating healthy and working out so I can comfortably wear their clothing again. For now I just got jewelry and that cute wallet!!! The wallet was 2.99 and all my jewels was 20.00 dollars my total was 24.37. My fave of all the jewelry has to be my bracelet pictured below. Its just so cute and will look nice with a few shirts I have.
On the day I spent a total of 32.45 because I spent 5.10 in family dollar on some hair accessories and coloring books. (lol)
One of my goals for 2013 is to learn to budget and learn the things I need to do be financially stable so hopefully I wont do a lot of shopping or I'll be doing shopping when things are on sale and every now and then I can enjoy more days like this!!!! :)
Stay tuned for my journey through 2013. I'll be working on my relationship with God,working on my writing, trying new things, working on my health, making videos, and LIVING LIFE.

This is the outfit I wore on Christmas day. It was comfy but cute. I like to read a lot of fashion blogs and I definitely want to try my hand at it. Oh and I love my hair. I love my natural hair and I'm still learning how to deal with it. Its not an easy task but I do pretty ok.
Recap.
Oh blog how I've missed thee! Nothing really interesting is going on so I haven't had anything to post up here. The new year is coming so I can recap a few things and tell you a few goals I have for 2013. :)
Well my aspirations for a 4.0 this semester were a no go but I did finish with 4 As and a C in bio(3.57) my GPA is getting better and I've realized that I every time I go for a 4.0 I do pretty well so 4.0 goal is still alive and well.
I've realized that I'm getting old (lol) I'm a JR in college people a JR. I thought about it the other day when my cousin asked when I would be graduating. I told her god willing next year. I already know if its in his will its already done I just have to keep working hard.
Christmas day I watched a story of guy that goes to my school. It was cool to see how selfless he was, and it was also cool to see how ESPN put the story together made me realize that I want to be apart of crews like that and also how bad I want to realize my dream of working on a 30 for 30 film.
I've recently read and finished a book called from failure to promise by Dr.C Moorer and it really hit home. He with his faith in god really made it through a lot of situations in academia and life period to make it were he is. He's blessed and successful I can dig it I want to make it and do well at my craft and my calling as long as its Gods will. His will shall come to pass so I know I'll be good.
Here's a video that I made when I was coming home. I'm hoping to go downtown with my cousin and make another one during our trip. I think this is the end of my post, I'm hoping to be more consistent with my post I know I keep saying that but its going to happen(eventually). I have so many goals and aspirations some cool things forth coming God is going to bless my 2013 and yours too!

Frugal Fashionista
Well soon I'm gonna be starting a fashion blog with someone from my 269
family and I'm excited. That is really one of the reasons, I'm doing this
post because I've been thinking about what I would talk about. A long
with thinking to talk about plus size fashion I also wanted to talk
about being fashionable and saving money.
So the first thing I would recommend to everyone is an app called shop kick! If you have a droid or an iPhone this is the app for you. You can earn points toward giftcards to some of your favorite stores. You really don't have to spend money you just have to walk in participating stores and get your points! If you work near or at a mall this app is surely for you. I'm planning on saving my kicks until around Christmas time and spending then. I'm leaving a link on the page so you can get 50 points for signing up. Just click the link , sign up ,get the app ,log-in and you are good to go! I will honestly tell you that every three people that I get to sign up I get 2000 kicks but once you get started you can do the same.

Well I made a recent shopping trip on Saturday and looked around a few of my favorite stores Forever 21 being number one.
Here are a few things I put together. I'm stilling learning myself but nothing will ever be perfect just love what you wear and that's really all that matters.
I'm pretty sure forever 21 is having a sale or a coupon coming out on the 21st of this month so I'm defiantly gonna snag these things.

October's Goals
Man I haven't been on here in a while but I'm back with some new goals!
My first goals is to stay trekking on the journey of a 4.0 this semester. I think I can do it, its gonna be a little harder because bio is no joke but I'm going to tutoring so things should be ok.
Today I'm going to tutor kids at my church. I really love kids and education is important! A new goal of mine is to stick with this and hopefully be able to tutor every Monday or at least one or two days a week.
I really want to be more consistent with my blog post at least three a month and progress from there. I also want my content to be more diverse. I really want to land a job in the sports or fashion field one day!
I'm still working on my health and hopefully helping friends along the way. Better health will ward off disease and help extend life. So I'm excited but its surely not easy.
Lastly a goal of mine that I've been working on for a while is to save money. I was talking to my parents the other day and my dad made me realize that when I'm done undergrad, I'll still be living similar to the way I'm living now as far as finances go. I'm taking it upon myself to watch my spending habits, create a working budget, and couponing better. I have a cool app that my friend told me about that could help a lot of people. ( See my next post for more info)

Reaching New Heights (September)
Hey guys I'm back with some new goals for September.
1. Well I've really been doing some thinking and I have some idea of what I want to do with my life. Upon graduating from North Carolina Central University, I plan on making my way home to Philadelphia were I'll do grad school at Temple University or hopefully find a job that will let me further my media skills. After a few years in the media business (sports, fashion, or entertainment), I want to get whatever credentials I need to become a media teacher. Once those are obtained I want to make steps to become a media teacher and bowling coach at Central High School. (My illustrious alma mater 269!!!) I know things wont go exactly as planned and I want everything I do to be aligned with God's will but I'm hoping to read this in a few years and be working toward my goal.
2. My second goal is so crucial. I really need to Grow some Tougher Skin. In no way do I feel that I am perfect because I know that is impossible, but I hate when people critique my work. Mainly because when I do things I love, I try to put my all in it and when someone doesn't like it, it hurts. But the business I'm going into you have to have tough skin so I'm working hard to let things roll down my back and move on because most of the criticism I'm receiving is to help me become better.
3. It has been a goal of mine for years now to receive full funding for my educational endeavors. I've succeeded in getting some scholarship dollars but I'm working even harder so I can possibly have the rest of my undergrad career paid for. That means preforming well on the lanes and in the classroom. It also means going after outside scholarships, I'm going a step further to find what I may need to do so that I can get post undergrad paid for as well. I know it all begins with my prayer life and how I preform in the classroom so I'll start there and get to work on reaching these goals.
As for an update on last months goals, I really feel that this 4.0 is possible! I'm going to have to work hard but it can surely be achieved. I feel like there is no excuse for me not to reach my fitness goals this semester because I'm taking fitness and I have team workouts so as long as I can do a little better in the nutrition department I'll be fine. Being social is another thing I'll really have to tackle, so far not going to well but I'll get better.

Fashion Fashion Fashion
I'm really picking up on my own style. It's actually funny remembering how I would tell my aunt that I'd never dress up and be girly. But I've grown up I like wearing cute shoes and dresses who would have thought it. I like reading fashion blogs and shopping its awesome. Next month is my birthday so I'm saving up to get a great fall/winter wardrobe. Sweaters, cardigans, skinnies, boots, UGG slippers. I'm so ready!
Ta ta for now be blessed
P.S
I'd just like to say I love the young woman I'm becoming. I'm still growing and that's a vital part of life. I'm so blessed and glad God hasn't given up on me thank goodness he's a god of second chances(lol and third, fourth, and fifth etc).
I'm praying that everyone makes steps toward their dreams and as long as they are aligned with God's will no one on his green Earth can stop them. :)

Transition

On the brink of becoming 21, wow how time has passed and how I really wish I was 16 again (sometimes). Now is the time in my life where I have to make grown up decisions and I cannot do things I use to do when I was younger.
When I was 14 and started working my camp job I did not have to worry about much of anything so I could spend my check on anything. But now I have to think rationally and remember that I have to eat wash laundry and pay my phone bill. By no means am I perfect at it but I'm learning and that's what growing up is for.
I've recently gained a huge respect for my parents and other adults in my life who manage to take care of their responsibilities and still find a way to give their children the world and even manage to send them to college. I hope I can be as responsible when I have a family but I also understand that faith in god will also play a part in that.

Reaching New Heights
Reaching New Heights
This section of my blog will be a monthly occurrence. I'm going to talk about my goals for that month or even goals I just want to reach period. Feel free to leave your goals in the comment box (along with your email)and I'll try my best to keep you motivated!!!!
This month as I'm getting ready for school I have a few things I want to do.
1. Be more social! I made a pact with my friend that I would try to be more social and open. I'm a very shy to myself person but I'm looking to change that.Mainly because of the profession I want to go into there is a lot of networking involved. There are other reasons why as well.
2. Healthy Me Journey. A high school friend and I have started a healthy me journey not trying to be skinny or anything just healthy for the sake of ourselves and possibly future families.
3. It's always a goal of mine at the start of each semester to finish the semester with a 4.0. I've fallen short with 3.4, 3.5, and 3.7 but I'll get there!!
4. I want more than anything to have some consistency in my life. I can never really start something and finish out. Like blogging or exercise and things of that nature but I'm going to find the remedy for this problem.
Well that's all. I'll catch you next month with some new goals!
Be blessed.
P.s
Being confident in the way I look is always something I'm looking to do. I have to love what God has created, simply because he's awesome and I'm created in his image. Here are some pictures from a recent photo shoot I did. I really stepped out of my comfort zone.
Love what you've got!!!!
Yea loving the skin you're in sometimes and for some people is way easier
said than done. I know for me and for a majority of my life that has
been so true but I'm working hard to change that. We pleasantly plump
ladies (some of us) let society dictate what is beautiful ( and that
goes for other models of beauty the media produces and people of all
shapes and sizes fall victim to) but that has to stop. For me today,
right this instant I'm making an effort to block it out and find beauty
in what God has created because he makes zero mistakes.

Welcome to my blog a place where I'm going to talk about anything and everything that interest me. I love fashion, sports, shopping, my family, electronics, and most important God! Please tune in to my post the main point of this blog is for me to further hone and craft my writing skills because I'm an aspiring Sports Journalist on both the print and broadcasting side. Feel free to critique, constructive criticism is good lol but bare in mind I'm still human so don't feel the need to rip me apart. Bye for now be blessed!
